Client Case Study: Temporary Recruitment

The client

Our client is an international company that develops, manufactures and markets pioneering in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) and lab-based diagnostics equipment, focusing on transforming the diagnostic market by delivering best-in-class products to the healthcare sector. 

The brief

This client was looking for an industry-experienced recruitment agency to support both the Production and Lab Based Testing departments.

Having struggled to recruit employees into permanent positions, our client reached a point where they needed immediate temporary recruitment support, requiring five workers in IVD production. The ideal candidate needed experience in a regulated GMP Lab, ideally with practical experience in relevant processes and techniques.

Our approach 

Our candidate searches involve utilising our existing database, as well as sourcing through job boards and advertisements. Screening techniques are thorough when filling any vacancy, but it was particularly extensive for each candidate in this case as the client opted not to interview the candidates directly. This is often the case with many of our clients looking to fill temporary positions. 

Our screening process involves interviewing candidates at least twice prior to submission. Here, we ensure each candidate fits the experience criteria and culture suitability, giving them a full run-through of the positions to assess both their compatibility and interest in the role. 

This is the most time-consuming, yet essential component of the recruitment process. However, our experience and industry knowledge enable us to quickly determine suitability from both a technical and logistical perspective. Allowing us to create a highly relevant shortlist of candidates who are most suited to the role. 

The screening process involves a meticulous assessment of suitability. This includes detailing the exact commute they would take, whether they have any holidays/commitments during the assignment, if they can demonstrate technical aptitude and whether they will realistically remain for the duration of the assignment.

Our result 

Having successfully placed all five vacancies, our relationship with this client has resulted in us extending our support in recruiting for various lab-based departments, as well as permanent recruitment in the validation and quality departments. 

We have developed a great understanding of our client, acting as an extension of their business to fulfil their business growth and support needs. To date, we have filled every temporary vacancy within the requested time frame, with many of our temporary workers still within the company after being offered permanent positions. 

We have now made twenty-four successful placements all within the set timeframe, including our most recent temporary placement, which was made within two days. We take pride in receiving great feedback on our response time, processes and quality of candidates with this clients, and remain a trusted partner to the business.
