Materials Science Lab Tech Job

A Manufacturer of Polyurethane Foams are seeking an experienced Lab Tech to join them at their facility in Derbyshire. Prior experience and confidence in a Lab setting is essential for this role as you will be working largely autonomously. Previous experience in a similar environment such as within PU Foam development/Testing or a similar industry such as Paints, Polymers or similar Chemicals is essential.
Role Overview
- Temporary (initially 6 months) , Start Date: ASAP, Hours: 4 days per week, Monday- Thursday 8AM-4PM(flexibility around exact start and finish times). £19ph
- Assist in creating and updating SOPs for a range of procedures including : Physical Testing, Fire Testing, Formulation,
- Conduct a range of lab based physical and chemical testing including Density, Hardness, Resilience and Fire Testing to assist with product development and testing.
- Work independently in the Lab, but alongside colleagues from other departments.
Requirements
- Background in Chemistry or Materials Science
- Experience in Materials Testing, Polymers, Chemical Formulations, Foams, Paints or Similar closely related areas.
- Comfortable working independently but collaboratively within a multi disciplinary team.
- Must be available to begin on 11/05/26 or 18/05/26 in DE55.
