About the Company
Our client is a rapidly growing, internationally recognised business that designs and manufactures a range of innovative laboratory products used across the Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, and Wastewater industries. Renowned for their technical expertise, product quality, and customer service, they continue to expand their footprint globally and are now looking for an ambitious Business Development Manager to join their UK team following continued success and internal promotion.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving sales growth across the South West UK territory. You’ll develop new business opportunities, nurture existing relationships, and represent the company at industry exhibitions and conferences. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in expanding a respected brand’s presence within the laboratory equipment market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with existing and potential customers across the South West region.
- Identify new business opportunities and drive growth through proactive sales outreach.
- Build a robust prospect pipeline through cold calling, email outreach, and marketing activities.
- Represent the company at industry exhibitions, conferences, and customer demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate records using the company CRM system.
- Prepare and deliver proposals for new business opportunities.
- Stay up to date with product and market developments to effectively communicate technical benefits.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and business continuity.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in sales or business development, ideally within the scientific or technical sectors.
- Background in laboratory, scientific, or technical equipment sales is highly desirable.
- Confident communicator with excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Organised, driven, and able to manage a regional sales territory effectively.
- Comfortable generating new business through cold-calling and virtual meetings.
- Ideally educated in a chemistry or related scientific discipline.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South West region.
- Experience using CRM systems for managing accounts and activity reporting.
