Our client is a Life Sciences consultancy company, specialising in competitive intelligence for businesses in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Medical Device space. Their core focus centres around information delivery in relation to market conditions, competitor insights and advisory strategy.
This Life Sciences company approached us to assist them in their search for an experienced Analyst to join their team. Impressed with our extensive network and souring techniques, our ethical approach and integral values mirrored their own company ethos, making us our preferred agency to work with.
This individual needed to have significant educational experience within both Life Sciences and therapy areas, as well as ideally a Ph.D. educated in Oncology with a number of years of post-doctoral work. Criteria for the ideal candidate also included commercial awareness, as well as the ability to interact well within a customer-facing role.
Given the relatively niche skillset needed for this position, we executed a thorough candidate search utilising a multi-method approach. This included tapping into our network to involve relevant industry contacts as well as advertising the position throughout multiple channels, as well as our website. Our primary activity involves actively headhunting the position and utilising tools such as LinkedIn to go out to the market to acquire additional interest.
From this, we were able to successfully shortlist 5 candidates who we felt were the strongest to interview. The screening process included two phone calls with each individual to confirm their suitability and quality before presenting to the client. This allows us to fully gauge whether their motives, experience and personality fit stood in alignment with both the company and job role.
Once the shortlist was sent over to the client, we arranged first and second-stage interviews with the company and candidates, engaging in pre-interview preparation and support throughout the whole process.
Despite our client's initial plan to hire just one individual, our success in presenting strong candidates resulted in the company creating a second position, and inviting two individuals to join their team.
