Job Description

Main Responsibilities 

• Support the Director in strategic leadership, management and delivery of the Medical Technologies Evaluation.
• Lead on health technology evaluation and management of medical devices, diagnostics and digital technologies
• Develop key working relationships with DHSC, OLS, NHS/I, AAC, MHRA, ABHI, BIVDA, AXREM
• Line Management of 3 Associate Directors
• Work with Science, Evidence and Analytics directorate on routinely reviewing, updating and consulting on the methods for the centres programmes
• Work closely with the MHRA and Department of Health and Social Care
• Participate in programmed of speaking engagements nationally and internationally.
• Manage a devolved budget for own area of work to ensure best value for money
• Provide cover for the director in their absence

To be considered...

Requirements:  

• Doctorate, MBA or equivalent professional qualification
• Senior Level experience in a relevant specialist area such as the delivery of health technology assessment processes and operations.
• Specialist knowledge over more than one discipline / function acquired over a significant period
•  An understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements
• Calm, persuasive and skilled negotiator in a political and contentious environment

Experience:

• Experience of a senior management role in a complex environment
• Expertise in one of the disciplines of health technology assessment ie. Health economics, systematic review, pharmacy, epidemiology, statistics, clinical research)
• Line Management experience
• Budget Management experience
• Experience of developing strategies to meet changing organisational needs
