Main Responsibilities
- Support the Director in strategic leadership, management and delivery of the Medical Technologies Evaluation.
- Lead on health technology evaluation and management of medical devices, diagnostics and digital technologies
- Develop key working relationships with DHSC, OLS, NHS/I, AAC, MHRA, ABHI, BIVDA, AXREM
- Line Management of 3 Associate Directors
- Work with Science, Evidence and Analytics directorate on routinely reviewing, updating and consulting on the methods for the centres programmes
- Work closely with the MHRA and Department of Health and Social Care
- Participate in programmed of speaking engagements nationally and internationally.
- Manage a devolved budget for own area of work to ensure best value for money
- Provide cover for the director in their absence
To be considered...
Requirements:
- Doctorate, MBA or equivalent professional qualification
- Senior Level experience in a relevant specialist area such as the delivery of health technology assessment processes and operations.
- Specialist knowledge over more than one discipline / function acquired over a significant period
- An understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements
- Calm, persuasive and skilled negotiator in a political and contentious environment
Experience:
- Experience of a senior management role in a complex environment
- Expertise in one of the disciplines of health technology assessment ie. Health economics, systematic review, pharmacy, epidemiology, statistics, clinical research)
- Line Management experience
- Budget Management experience
- Experience of developing strategies to meet changing organisational needs
