Are you looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity within the radiopharmaceutical industry? Do you consider yourself a highly motivated team player who would work well under pressure? Do you have a degree in physics, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy or a related science discipline?
Our client, a radiopharmaceutical manufacturing company, offering reliable licensed supplies of PET radiopharmaceuticals across the UK to imaging centres, is looking to recruit a Radiochemist for their business within the UK. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to work within the production laboratory. In addition, the right candidate has the potential to cross train into engineering within this role. This will be a varied and challenging role, suitable for a proactive individual who is capable of working to tight deadlines.
Main duties involve authoring SOPs and other quality procedures in addition to the production and radio-synthesis of radiopharmaceuticals for PET imaging.
You will be a graduate in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, pharmacy or a related scientific discipline with good working knowledge of analytical laboratory procedures, though not necessarily gained in industry. Good time management skills and an ability to work under minimal supervision are essential. The ideal candidate should also have good communication skills, be technically minded, proactive and have the aptitude to follow methods/procedures precisely. Good working knowledge of GMP regulations would be a distinct advantage as would prior experience working in an analytical role in a production environment.
Due to the short shelf life of the products, Radiochemists are expected to work a flexible shift pattern of work including some unsociable hours. The role will be a 12 hour shift pattern of work, one week on, one week off.
