Are you looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity within the radiopharmaceutical industry? Do you consider yourself a highly motivated team player who would work well under pressure? Are you experienced within a GMP regulated laboratory? Do you have a degree in physics, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy or a related science discipline?
We are working in partnership with a leading radiopharmaceutical manufacturing company that produces licensed supplies of PET radiopharmaceuticals to imaging centres across the UK. We are looking to find dedicated Radiochemists to work within the production laboratory. This will be a varied and challenging role, suitable for a proactive individual who is capable of working to tight deadlines.
Main duties involve authoring SOPs and other quality procedures in addition to the production and radio-synthesis of radiopharmaceuticals for PET imaging.
You will be a graduate in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, pharmacy or a related scientific discipline with good working knowledge of analytical laboratory procedures, though not necessarily gained in industry. Good time management skills and an ability to work under minimal supervision are essential. The ideal candidate should also have good communication skills, be technically minded, proactive and have the aptitude to follow methods/procedures precisely. Good working knowledge of GMP regulations is essential.
Due to the short shelf life of the products, Radiochemists are expected to work a flexible shift pattern of work including some unsociable hours. The role will initially be on a day shift but with a change to a rotating shift after 6 to 12 months.
