Job Description

Our client has been providing quality laboratory and diagnostic products for over 40 years to scientists from their south coast offices. They are looking to appoint a Key Account Manager to manage specific accounts in the North East UK region, selling clinical diagnostic and laboratory products. This includes assays for Haematology, Immunology, Clinical Chemistry and Infectious Diseases as well as liquid handling and general laboratory consumables.

Field based within the territory, you will create, maintain and execute strategic and tactical key account plans. You will continually identify and take opportunities to develop new key accounts and contacts whilst maintaining existing and growing new business. You will identify stakeholders across all business functions within all allocated key accounts, cementing relationships within existing contacts whilst developing new. You will achieve forecast sales and margin targets by selling products across the portfolio, maintaining a balanced product mix.

To be considered...

  • Ideally qualified within the Life Sciences.
  • Experienced in selling to the scientific sector, particularly clinical, research and academic markets. 
  • Have a good understanding of Key Account concepts, Managed Service Contracts and Third Party Procurement. 
  • Have good knowledge of the various clinical disciplines and broad contacts within the industry. 
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with experience of influencing many different types of stakeholders. 
  • A strategic thinker & are able to work well in a team as well as being independent.
