Job Description
Due to growth across the business, the opportunity has arisen for a Section Head to join the Virology Team and support the technical, operation and strategic direction of the department. If you’re a proven leader who can illustrate the oversight of highly complex testing in a high-throughput environment, then this could be an excellent opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of the Virology laboratory – from day to day running, recruitment and budgeting
- Working with other Senior Managers to develop medium and long-term plans for the department
- Acting as a subject matter expert for complex testing issues
- Taking responsibility for the departments Health & Safety
- Collaborating with other departments to identify business and growth opportunities
- Authorising Client reports
To be considered...
Requirements:
- Ideally educated to PhD level in Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline
- Extensive background in virology
- Strong understanding of ISO17025, GLP and related quality systems
- Experience overseeing the testing function of a similar business and exposure to operations and strategical planning
