Job Description

We are working closely with an innovative Biotech business based in France who are looking to appoint the first Chief Medical Officer in the company’s history. This is largely due to increasing demand for their products and a need for a clinical expert to implement and champion best-in-class practice across the board.

This is a highly strategic role, where you will take full ownership of the creation, implementation and execution of the company’s clinical development plan in order to compile and submit authorisation dossiers to the relevant bodies for approval, as well as taking ownership of all related regulatory responsibilities.

You will work closely with the internal Development Team in order to create and implement the overall development plan, which will include liaising with external support that includes CRO’s and independent consultants as and when required, maintaining strong working relationships and working collaboratively to adhere to agreed timelines.

Your medical expertise and commercial acumen will aid the ongoing development of corporate strategy and you will be market-facing whenever necessary in order to promote the brand to potential investors, industry partners and the wider medical community.

Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing managerial support to the Clinical Team including biostatistics and pharmacovigilance
  • Managing the end to end clinical development process
  • Developing and implementing best-in-class clinical practice
  • Creating and implementing various stages of clinical trials, adhering to GCP
  • Being the clinical ‘face’ of the business, engaging with the market
  • Heavy involvement in drug development processes and regulations

You will be a medical doctor with 15 years of experience or more in clinical development within the pharma industry, ideally with knowledge of CNS or Pain Management products.

You will also have managed the end to end product lifecycle from inception to regulatory approval and will have experienced both the EU and US markets during your career.

With an expert knowledge of clinical guidelines and clinical studies, ideally you will have experience of drug delivery systems, with a sound knowledge of Injectables.

In return, you will receive an exceptional financial and supporting package that includes bonus, healthcare, equity, relocation package and a seat on the company’s board.

For more information or to apply, please contact Steve Coomber on 01423 813520 or alternatively send your CV and details to

Please note that all applicants for this role should be able to prove that they are legally entitled to work within the EU. Network Scientific Recruitment, part of Network Scientific Ltd. is an Employment Business/Agency.

To be considered...

You will be expected to work at least one week in every four at their headquarters in France in order to stay close to all ongoing projects and responsibilities so a full relocation, although beneficial, is not essential.
