Job Description

Our client are a rapidly growing provider of a wide range of laboratory equipment and consumables. They work closely with their customers to deliver a first-class service which they pride themselves on and have done so for over 40 years. Due to growth, they are now looking to recruit a Chemical Compliance Executive to join their ambitious and motivated team.

Responsibilities will include ensuring work adheres to all relevant import and export laws, regulations, and standards. This role is responsible for managing the compliance processes related to the import and export of laboratory chemicals, reagents, and certified materials. 

The individual will liaise with Sales/SOP and the logistic teams to implement a system to control the company’s import and export compliance. You will look to ensure the company remains up-to-date with UK import and export regulations, including but not limited to the Domestic precursor legislation, UK Poisons Act 1972, UK REACH, UK strategic controls list, UK ODS legislation, PIC legislation and any other applicable laws.

To be considered...

To be considered for the role you will hold a relevant degree in a scientific discipline, ideally Chemistry. You should have experience working within a chemistry laboratory environment and be familiar with a wide range of chemicals and their application. Experience working in a logistics, compliance or quality assurance position would be highly beneficial but not necessary. You should have a close eye for detail and a diligent mindset. The ability to keep up-to-date and accurate records will also be needed. You should be able to work well as part of a team as well as autonomously and have the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
