Job Description

Our client is a market leader and pioneer in the area of hospital based, medical devices who are well known for training, developing and investing in the growth of their staff

We are currently recruiting for a Northern based Area Business Manager for their vascular market place.

The role is responsible for achieving sales growth and profit targets for products within their portfolio. The role will also need to identify opportunities for growth in both current and prospective markets.  This is a role where you will be working at higher customer touch points – likely to be financial director or general manager level within the hospital setting.

The type of person being sought is a hungry, ambitious individual who wants a career and sees themselves leading a team in the next 2-3 years. 

Please note that we have two positions available, one based in London and one in Leeds/Manchester. 

What you do on a day-to-day basis:

  • Working with the BDM to create development plans and forecasting sales targets and growth projections.
  • In conjunction with the BDM develop and implement strategic plans for all market segments to increase market share whilst achieving profit objectives.
  • Responsible for the execution of strategy in the field for an agreed range of strategic products.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trends, and new ways of reaching existing markets.
  • Responsible for providing the sales team with advanced technical expertise to enable them to sell the product more effectively. This involves product training and how clinical papers and other tools can be used in the sales process
  • Identify trends and customer needs as well as analysing changes in the market and reporting back on competitor threats.
  • Manage and coordinate delivery of regional and national portfolio products education through workshops, networks and forums.
  • Identifying market opportunities through meetings, networking and other channels
  • Building and maintaining relationships with KOL’s to help with the development and design of products and product literature.
  • Act as point of first reference for all product related enquiries from the sales team.
  • Responsible for setting up products, adding codes, setting pricing based on market feedback, costs and margin expectations.
  • Ensuring operational processes are adhered to with regards to capital equipment.
  • Involvement in launch of product ranges.
  • Under the direction of the BDM, work with the marketing dept to implement sales collateral.

To be considered...

Your Experience:

You will have at least 2 years’ experience in either a medical device sales and/or product management background, with a thorough understanding of business processes and strategy development.  A good understanding of business management within the medical device sector is necessary. 

Travel will be required which may include some extended periods away from home and some overseas trips.
