Experienced Environmental Fate Modeller

Salary £Very Open, Permanent Position, South East England.

Are you looking to play a pivotal role, within an experienced team, researching the fate and behaviour of chemicals in the environment? Do you have experience in environmental fate modelling using FOCUS models? Are you experienced in using higher-tier modelling tools in order to overcome risk assessment issues? Are you ambitious and looking to take a step into a Senior Manager post within the next 5 years?

Our client, a rapidly expanding scientific company providing expert advice on the fate and behaviour of chemicals, is looking to appoint and experienced Environmental Fate Modeller to join their already established team within the Risk Assessment Research department.

Key responsibilities of the role include;

  • Providing modelling for EU Annex 1 and Member State requirements using FOCUS models and country specific evaluations for both surface water and groundwater.
  • Derivation of half-life estimations and generation of stand model input parameters using kinetic analysis of laboratory and field data.
  • Overcoming exposure and risk assessment issues using higher-tier modelling tools.

The ideal candidate will be educated to at least degree level in environmental sciences or a related subject. You will have proven experience conducting environmental modelling studies for registration and be able to demonstrate the processes involved in determining the environmental fate of chemicals within the environment. The successful candidate will be confident in the use of computer simulations models such as FOCUS with experience of GIS tools for higher-tier risk assessments. You will be an excellent communicator and be able to demonstrate excellent organisations skills to work to tight client deadlines.
